Mission:
3RNet works to improve rural and underserved communities’ access to quality health care through recruitment of physicians and other health care professionals, development of community based recruitment and retention activities and national advocacy relative to rural and underserved health care workforce issues. 3RNet is the national leader for community-based health professional recruitment and retention, using interactive technologies and communication.

3RNet Background:

The National Rural Recruitment and Retention Network (3RNet) is a not-for-profit network currently consisting of 52 organizational members that recruit medical professionals to rural and underserved areas. 3RNet members serve over 5,000 communities across the country. The Federal Office of Rural Health Policy has supported 3RNet since the inception of the network. A variety of state-based organizations are members. Each member acts autonomously, and their individual recruitment efforts are supported by 3RNet national promotional efforts and technical assistance through 3RNet staff and members.

Resources:
•        Members whose combined years of experience constitutes an extremely broad knowledge base which is freely shared
•        Members who are knowledgeable about their states and communities
•        Members who focus on matching the needs of communities and practices with the needs of physicians and families to increase retention and long-term satisfaction
•        Members who know about federal, state and local loan forgiveness/incentive programs in their states
•        A national web site through which state members can be easily reached
•        A registration capability to automatically and immediately inform 3RNet members of an interested candidate
•        A page with important links to other rural health resources
•        A page specifically designed to guide physicians who have J-1 visas
